16.00-19.00 Symposium: Transforming Institutions

The symposium explores the transformation of the museum as an institution through its spatial context. Some questions at stake are: how does a program for a new building or an extension get shaped? How can a director and an institution adapt to the uncalculable results of competitions? How do the spaces shape the program, the activities and the mission of an institution? What are the unexpected and the planned elements therein? How does the rebranding of museums change their activities and directions?
